VIVIAN M NAABE
Vivian M. Naabe, 92, of Elmer, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 18, 2010, at South Jersey Healthcare Hospice in Bridgeton. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff for the care Vivian received during her stay.
She was the daughter of Delbert and Alice Mickel and was born on the Aldine family homestead in 1917. She is predeceased by her husband Clarence to whom she was married for 46 years.
Vivian was a graduate of Woodstown High School and attended Philadelphia Bible College and Nyack Missionary College. While working at J.C. Penney she was active with youth and adults throughout the N.J. United Methodist Church. Upon her marrying Clarence, she was an active volunteer at Elmer Hospital for 23 years as well as Friendship United Methodist Church in Monroeville.
Vivian is survived by daughters from the marriage of Clarence and Edna Coles Naabe: Marion (Ron) Zajac of Mercerville, Doris (Dan) Moore of Daretown and Betty (Jim) Coombs of Elmer; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was loved by many nieces and nephews, including Delle (Nick) Zelinsky, Rev. Carlton (Kathy) Bodine, Nancy (Bob) Siebert, Judy (Steve) Poloff, Sharon Helmbrecht, Rev. Richard (Joanna) Nichols, Michael (Peggy) Nichols, Pat (David) Frazer, Carol (David) Swanson, Bonnie (Bob) Kincs, Bertram (Lynn) Mickel, Charles (Diane) Mickel and Bob (Evelyn) Mickel.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Dorothy Robinson, Gladys Lyons, Evelyn Bodine and Marion Nichols; one brother, Bertram Mickel.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Monroeville.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials to be sent to the Elmer Ambulance Corps., P.O. Box 812 Elmer, NJ 08318 or South Jersey Healthcare Hospice, 333 Irving Ave., Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
