      Harriet Jane Walls was the daughter of Brinkley Leonard Walls and Sarah H. Bennum. Brinkley died when Harriet was still a young child. Sarah remarried to William Hancock.
      Harriet married James T. Carey on or about December 26, 1865. James and Harriet had six sons, five of who were buried at Beaverdam/Harbeson cemetery. Their six sons were: Willard Mason Carey, Louis James Carey, Charles Edward Carey, Frederick W. Carey, Joseph Henry Carey, Alfred Hopkins Carey.

      Brinkley L. Walls was the son of Peter and Sarah (probably Johnson) Walls. He married Sarah H. Bennum (daughter of Henry O. and Isabelle (Dodd) Bennum on or about 12/26/1836. Brinkley and Sarah had six children: George (1837-1912), Sophia (1842-1843), John Henry (1841-1922), Mary (1844), Harriet Jane Carey (1845-1915), Greensbury "Bury" (1847-1936). After Brinkley's death, Sarah married William Hancock. It is unknown when she died or where she was buried.
