    • «b»Four Sisters Reunited «/b»

"Together for the first time in 46 years are Mrs. A.L. Pierce of 830 N. 4th Ave. and her three sisters, Mesdames Evan Stevenson of West Yellowstone, Montana, Frank J. Kepler of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Bernard R. Proulx of Lansing, Michigan. Separated since 1901 when Mrs. Stevenson, the eldest sister, left the family home in Ishpeming, Michigan, following her marriage, the four matrons have been reviewing the childhood years they spent together. Mrs. Kepler and Mrs. Proulx arrived here January 7. Mrs. Stevenson arrived January 15, surprising completely her three sisters. She smiled broadly, remembering Mrs. Pierce's astonishment when she opened her door that morning for the sister she hadn't seen for over 20 years. Continuing her reminisces, Mrs. Stevenson recalled that every morning before her marriage, she had combed his Proulx's and Mrs. Kepler's hair into curls before sending them off to school. "The two younger sisters spoke of the special "grown-up" feeling they had morning their grandmother gave them French braids instead of ringlets. Another memory uppermost in the minds of the United Quartet was the family organ which helped the place of honor in the parlor. They had a hearty laugh remembering the nightly contest for practice our organ which always coincided with the time to "do the dishes". Explaining that she always felt that she should accept responsibility since she was the oldest girl, Mrs. Stevenson ruefully pointed out that while she helped her mother prepared the Sunday dinner, Mrs. Pierce spent an hour upstairs primping for her Sunday date. "Then, just as I emerged from the kitchen with the pink and steaming countenance, might though walked in". During their stay here, the visitors have toward the entire valley, and on January 20, Mrs. Pierce's birthday, made a trip to Nogales. They agreed that the thought of seeing Phoenix was an added incentive for their visit. "When you mention coming to Phoenix, back East or in the middle West, there was always an upsurge of interest.", they said. The trio of visitors and Mrs. J. C. Kastensmith of Baldwin, Long Island, New York, Mrs. Pierce's daughter, were honor guests at a bridge luncheon in Mrs. Pierce's home recently. Mrs. Kepler and Mrs. Kastensmith are due to leave this week concluding what all the sisters agree has been quote a wonderful reunion full of memories and chuckles"."
