      RAYMOND E. ASHER, 70, of Pennsauken, died Tuesday at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals/Cherry Hill
      Division.


      Born in «b»Camden«/b», he was an Army veteran of World War II and moved to Pennsauken after completing his military service. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Philadelphia for 22 years and in February 1983 received the department's Driver of the Month award.


      Survivors: his wife, Thelma J. Wetherill Asher; a stepson, Lester Sheer Jr. of Pennsauken; a stepdaughter, Thelma J. Sheer of Pennsauken; an uncle, Horace of Deptford; an aunt, Rebecca Brown of Mount Holly, and a cousin, Eleanor Kirkbride of Pemberton.


      Services: viewing, 1 p.m. today, DuBois Funeral Home, 700 White Horse Pike, Audubon; funeral, 2 p.m. today, at the funeral home; burial, Arlington Cemetery, Pennsauken.

      Mrs. Asher, a homemaker, was born in Philadelphia and lived most of her life in Pennsauken. She was the widow of «b»Raymond «/b»E. Asher.


      Survivors: a son, Lester Sheer Jr. of Pennsauken; a daughter, Thelma J. Sheer of Pennsauken; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren, and four sisters, Mary Kautz of Hershey, Pa., Dorothy Dowling of Somerdale, Betty Frazier of Ocean View and Alberta Nowicki of Riverside.
