Lawlor, a former accountant for the city of Reading, died Thursday afternoon at 1:45 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center, where he had been a patient since March 13. Lawlor, 60, of Mulberry St., served as city accountant from 1961 until August 1975. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Andrew F. and Catherine I. (Callahan) Lawlor. Lawlor was employed by the city since 1949 when he started in the bureau of water. He transferred to the accountants office as a clerk in 1951 and in 1956 was appointed assistant accountant. From 1975 until his retirement in 1982, he served as a chief clerk in the city treasurer's office. Lawlor last served as a school crossing guard from 1984 to 1986. A graduate of the former Reading Catholic High School, he was a former assistant manager at the Strand Theater. A member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Surviving are five brothers. Also a sister. (Reading Eagle-4/8/1987) Family links: Parents: Andrew F.
