From the Richmond Times, Jan. 30, 1890:

"Death of an Old Shoe Merchant"

Mr. John H. Boschen died yesterday morning, at 2 o'clock, at his residence, corner of Laurel and Cumberland streets. Mr. Boschen was in his seventy-eighth year and had been in exceedingly good health, considering his years, being uncommonly active in his movements. He fell a victim to the prevailing malady la grippe about two weeks ago, but his case was not considered dangerous until the past few days when it developed into acute pneumonia and on account of his advanced age and weak constitution he sank rapidly. Mr. Boschen came to America from Germany in 1837, and had been a resident of Richmond since 1840. He was the oldest shoe merchant of Richmond, and conducted the large establishment on Broad street near Fifth. Mr. Boschen leaves a wife and four children. The latter are: «u»Mrs. Charles L. A Find A Grave Virtual Cemetery is essentially a collection of names from the Find A Grave database. As a Find A Grave contributor, you can build Virtual Cemeteries to group listings in whatever way you would like. For example, you might make a 'Smith Family Virtual Cemetery' where you would place all of the members of your Smith family tree. Other examples: 'My Favorite Actors' or 'Memorials I Visit Often'. Be creative!

A VIRTUAL CEMETERY HAS NO RELATION TO A REAL CEMETERY! People listed in your VIRTUAL cemeteries can be buried in many different REAL cemeteries. You can add any name in the Find A Grave database to the Virtual Cemeteries you create. You can choose to make your Virtual Cemeteries visible to the visitors of your Find A Grave contributor page so that others can view the collections you have created.
