Leonora was the daughter of John Boschen & Christina Paul, and the sister of Henry Boschen, Herman Boschen, Wilhelmine Boschen Schmidt & Theodore Boschen. She married Charles Siegel on Dec. 1, 1864, and they had 9 children: Henry Siegel, Charles Siegel, Minnie Siegel Meyns, Louis Siegel, Leonora Siegel Diener, Christine Siegel Lawrence, Edward Siegel, Rudolph Siegel & John Siegel.
On May 24, 1902, Leonora was a passenger in a street car when it crashed into an iron pole alongside the track during a storm. As a result of the accident, she received a gash on her forehead, and it was feared that she would lose sight in one eye. Articles on the crash are available on the Chronicling America website.

Birth: Apr. 12, 1838
Bavaria (Bayern), Germany
Death: Jan. 4, 1893
Richmond City
Virginia, USA
Charles L. Siegel (born Karl Ludwig Siegel) was the son of Louis Siegel & Catharine Weber, and the brother of Philippina Siegel Scheidt, Henry Siegel & Marie Siegel. The family came to the U.S. from Bavaria in 1851. Charles married Leonora Boschen on Dec. 1, 1864, and they had 12 children: Henry Siegel, Charles Siegel, Minnie Siegel Meyns, Herman Siegel, Louis Siegel, Leonora Siegel Diener, Christine Siegel Lawrence, Edward Siegel, Rudolph Siegel, John Siegel, Willie Siegel & Frederick Siegel.
"When a boy thirteen years of age he came with his parents to New York and studied music, for which he showed great talent. Desirous to see the world, he accepted different engagements with circus and minstrel troups and travelled with them over the entire United States and in Canada. In 1856 he participated in the Walker campaign in Nicaragua and then took service on a U.S. man-of-war and visited other parts of the globe. At the beginning of the Civil War he lived at Charleston, S.C., and enlisted in the 14th South Carolina Infantry Regiment of General Maxey Greggs' Brigade. He remained with this command throughout the war, from the bombardment of Fort Sumter to the surrender at Appomattox, and he fought in many battles. After the war Mr. Siegel remained in Richmond, married a daughter of John H. Boschen and established a shoe-store. He was very successful in his business, but his love for music did not allow his mind to rest quietly. What he has done to advance musical art in Richmond from 1870 to 1885 and as leader of the Gesangverein Virginia, is gratefully remembered and appreciated by his German fellow-citizens. G. L. Siegel was an artist born, but an adverse fate prevented him from making full use of his great talent." (From "History of the German Element in Virginia Vol. 2", available from Google Books)
